Theology

We see ourselves as a mainstream Christian community. Although we are now an independent group, we are connected both formally and informally to many other Christians, especially locally in the city of Bristol (see Connections). Our roots are as an inter-denominational fellowship within the University of Bristol and we became independent through practical circumstances and not any schismatic falling out with other Christians.

The core faith of Christians throughout the ages is defined by the Nicene creed - an ancient creed formulated in the 4th century AD and accepted by virtually all Christian churches, including Protestant denominations, Catholic and Eastern Orthodox (with a caveat about the Filioque clause in the case of the Eastern Orthodox churches if you want to be very precise).
